I am traveling to Paradise Island for a work related conference in early OCT. I'd like to arrange a bonefishing trip on the tail end of my visit. There doesn't seem to be any flats fishing on Paradise Island so I'm planning to overnight on another island. I can fly out of Nassau on Thursday morning and have to return for a 7:30 pm departure on Friday night. Just looking for a half day THursday (afternoon) and 3/4 ths of a day on Friday morning. Accomodations can be modest as its just me, no wife and kids. Any suggestions?

I would call David Bendix at Buccaneers to see if he has anyting available. He's a very nice guy and will work with you to ensure good fishing...either big fish or numbers. His phone number is 307-674-9442.

Good luck

I pulled it off in April, vacationing with the family at Paradise Island (there is no fishing there).

I made arrangements with Donna Teeny at the Andros Island Bonefish Club. She really took care of me.

I flew over in the morning, they fed me breakfast, packed my lunch and drinks, and had me on the water within 45 mins of arriving. I spent a great day on the water (they put me on tons of fish!), then came back, had a shower and dinner with wine and drinks (even smoked a cuban) with a bunch of other flyrodders staying at the club, then crashed for the night, flew back to Paradise in the morning and had breakfast with the kids.

It was awesome. Andros is a short flight (10 mins?) from Nassau, the cab rides to and from the airports are longer.

BUT.......beware of BahamasAir!!! They can screw you up bigtime! Try to get a flght on Western Airlines. BahamasAir cancels flights for no reason and with little or no notice.

I will be going back next year, but I have no idea what the fishing (or the weather) is like in October.

Hope this helps.

Thanks guys. I just booked it at Andros. They were very helpful. Western Air took my reservation but its cash only and I don't acutally purhase a ticket until the day of the flight. . . makes a bit nervous but Andros Bonefish Club says no problem mon! Hopefully the fish will cooperate!

Thats SOP for Western, you wont have a problem, whereas, BahamasAir takes you r money in advance cancels the flight, then doesnt give you a refund.

You wont be disappointed with the Andros Club. Since you only have the one day, ask if you can go out with Rupert (the owner), he is the best.

Tight-lines!!
