The guys on the NE Board are doing a number on schoolies up in Mass. Several posts. The same schoolies should be showing up in, hopefully in force, our area any minute. Put your ear to the ground while at the docks, or the Net. Usually everyone knows when and where it's happening.

For those of you who plan fishing the tuna, I suggest that you order your Federal Atlantic Tuna Permit. You don't want to be caught with a fish or two without a permit classified as an "Atlantic Tuna Recreational Angling Permit". With this permit you'll be totally legal, and without it, you are not and some hefty fines can be in order. With the recreational permit you can keep daily limits of school and medium tunas.

Its just seconds to get, and you print your own pemit instantly. Just dial up www.nmfspermits.com Don't want any one dealing with a huge fine after having a great day....Howie

Seeing that you mention BFT I am assuming you fish for them also...so the question is..what's a good lure or couple of lures that you have had luck with? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am no expert on tuna...have yet to catch one, but if you serch the past posts on BFT you find some common ideas. Most BF guys are pretty tight lipped about lures because it takes them a long time to perfect one that consistantly catches fish. But, from what I gathered, as with any other fish, match the hatch...FInd the bait size and go with that...anytime I jhave asked that question I got responses like Kastmasters, DD's Crippled Herring..basically metals that resemble the size of the bait around. They are easy to use and can be used in a couple ways... Assuming you are not going after them with the fly...Other option is to Live line. I have been told Herring and even smaller blues are good baits, but again, I really don;t know much about them, I just regurgitating what I have heard and read...
