Access to RI shoreline via 4X4 info.

I have a buddy of mine who has a 4 wheel drive vehicle that is looking for info on getting a sticker to be able to drive the shoreline in and around Westerly, Charlestown, and such. Does anyone know where he can go to get this sticker and how much they cost?

I see cars driving out at Weekapaug without this. There are no signs at the entrance indicating restrictions. I wonder what the deal is... I know you need one for Ninigret/West beach, but....

You do need a permit to drive on the beach at weakapaug, but not to park by the breachway. One other thing to alert everyone about, you CANNOT PAY WITH CASH anymore. I found this out the hard way by driving all the way from western CT without my check book. I had to go to Stop & Shop to get a money order since there was no way I was driving back to get my check book.

A beach sticker is needed at every beach that is in Charlestown, or Westerly, and they are the only towns in the state that allow vehicles on the beach.:( Those that drive without the stickers, and get caught are subject to a hefty fine.

I wish they would enforce the permit. I am there every weekend from sept 15 thru nov and I think I have seen them once a year maybe. I usualy see 2-3 vehicles with out permits a day driving on the beach.

hey gentlemen----are there any stripers happening yet around quannie or west beach---and can you park in the lot by the charlestown breach where folks with 4x4's access the quannie breach or will they ticket you----thanks for any help
