View Full Version : Beach fishing tide advice
Does anyone have a strong opinion what part of a tide I should fish when throwing flies from the beach on the southside of Long Island, from Montauk west to Shinecock?

IMO
THREE HOURS BEFORE HIGH. THREE HOURS BEFORE FULL LOW.
BLUES AND STRIPERS RUN WITH TIDES. AS LONG AS THE TIDES ARE MOVING BAIT AROUND, THE NASTIES SHOULD BE AROUND.

For albies and bonita,I prefer to fish the incoming. Most times
though ,you just need current to have the gamefish feeding.
Just check posted reports and with local shops as to what tide
is better.
