View Full Version : Big shift in NOAA forecast
3:30 pm forecast now makes weekend look good, Friday look ugly. I'm bummed, as my brother Jim was supposed to fish with me Friday.
Of course, its only Wednesday, NOAA may dance back and forth on this for a while, but for those looking to fish Saturday and Sunday, current forecast is much better.
Gotta run - gotta get out East, gonna fish Thursday (hmm, and maybe Friday morning)

The past few weekends in a row they have changed the forcast on friday afternoon for sat and sun (boston harbor, Block island sound, and Merrimack)...keep watching...
Things are looking worse again, but, I'm thinking about giving Sunday a shot. Anybody else gonna be out there?

It looks bad except if you're fishing from the beach. Its a NE wind, which is great for rock hopping in Montauk. I have never done well fishing for albies in the rain. Any else have any luck in the rain with them?
I'll definitely bring the surf rod if I drive out. NE wind is good, but 8-10 footers really get scary on the rocks.
If I hit the rocks I can throw a Kastmaster at all the guides that come too close.:D
It looks like the ocean will still be nasty, but the forecast for Sunday actually does not look too bad.
