Water temps were around 60 degrees. Fish were hitting, but very deep all over ponds. Didn't see any rises. Unfortunately I had a tough day, literally dropped about 5-6 rainbows 3 of which I had on for a while. Only fish I landed was a 1.5lb smallie. Not sure what I was doing wrong, probably still used to pulling in Stripers. That's all I have for an excuse!
Going to up my woolly bugger hook size a little bit, maybe that will help. I've lost alot of fish on these hooks in the last year.
Not too worried, I think trout are just getting used to these temps. Action should start to pick up in the next week or so.
