Back Beach in Rockport had tons of bait (peanut bunker) and a blitz of small stripers (10-to-16-inchers) on Monday afternoon.

Fairly easy to find micro sized bass up for seconds at a time off Swampscott today. All given away by birds...quit after half dozen mini-warriors and pulled in a few barely legal cod near the red #4 can outside Tinker's Island. I'd tell the other dude to go south. Heard there were 20#plus blues off Block Island yesterday...

20 lb plus is above a world record...

I believe the WR blue is about 36lbs. I've personally seen bluefish in the early 90's 20+lbs.

aren't those all takle records? I meant the fly records for tippet class...I know the 16lb tippet a 17 lb fish would break the record I believe...granted thats alot of teeth to get lucky with a 16lb tippet...but a long shanked fly and it could be done....

Underneath those schools of micros there can be some good sized fish.
You can jig for them on the edge of the school or wait until dusk when they start to come up and edge out the micros.
