A buddy and I will be fishing the Salmon River in CT tomorrow. Although I have been going to that area of the state since I was a kid, I have never fished the river. Our plan right now is to start at the TMA above the covered bridge, and then move down to the lower section (I believe it's called The Canyon) later in the day.

Any advice/recommendations on places to fish or flies that might be particularly effective there at this time of year?

My direct e-mail is wfiora@earthlink.net if you don't want to post your replies to the whole group.

Thanks for any help.

OK. Here I am replying to my own post. We fished the Salmon on Saturday and got only one trout between us. While the water level was fine this weekend, my guess is that it got so low this summer that the trout weren't able to make it until the fall.

If I remember correctly, CT only stocks lakes and ponds in the fall. Is this correct?
