There are two ways to display a picture in your post on this board.

1-if you have web cache space adjust your picture to a proper size and format. say jpeg 400X200 pixel or smaller
Then use the IMG button and type in the address. This will put your picture where ever in your post you wish.

2. You can attach the file at the end of your post by click on the browse button at the bottom, find your picture and attach by clicking on the appropriated option. Again watch the size and format.

Please be considerate of your low-bandwidth brethren and resize your pictures so they will quickly transfer over slow connections.

Most digital cameras come with a CD full of photo editing software. Learn how to resize images and how to optimize them for the web. Saving as a .gif or .jpg is usually good enough.

OK, 'puter illiterate when it comes to photos so here are my questions....
1) I have a scanner so just scanning my paper photo in to my computer will work?
2) If I have film developed & put on a cd is that better?
3) Is it alot easier with a digital camera? I saw Walmart had disposable digital cameras so maybe for my next trip I should get one of them?

1)Scanning pictures onto your computer works just fine.
2)Putting them on a cd when developed means you would then have all your shots digitized and might be easier.
3) Digital cameras make life much easier if your planning on posting a picture.

I am in the same boat, (no pun intended) as AlderBrookFarm. I have a scanner. I have photos on the computer. The last time I attempted to upload photos I melted the "Introduce Yourself" thread. Do I need to resize my photos on the computer into jpeg sized images before I attempt to upload them? (Like I know what I just wrote).

The nice thing about the new software is that the size of the picture is less of a problem when viewing a thread since they show as thumbnails. However to be nice to the servor we prefer pictures to be resized to about 400x300 pixels. The two pics I have attached show the difference in size .
