Fished Walden Pond via kayak on Sunday morning from about 10:30 until 12:30. My plan was to drift fish with shiners and troll with a fly, targeting trout. Given my limited time, my goal was concentrate on drifting.
The wind was very strong and made drifting a shiner difficult at best. After spending an hour trying to make it all work I gave up and spent about 20 minutes catching smallmouths in one of the coves. After the smallmouths I trolled home using the wind. The wind was so strong I was often paddling backwards to slow down my drift. No luck trolling.
