Hit a reliable winterish pond on Saturday afternoon for 2 hours. Stalked fish in the middle that were cruising sipping midges. Was cold, so I just waited for surface feeding fish to show themselves.

While floating around in tube throwing midges on floating, I picked up 3 trout. 16 inch rainbow, 10 inch rainbow, and 14 inch Brown.

I'm fairly content even though I could have worked a little harder and caught more fish.

Water temp 46 degrees.

No trolling? It would keep you warm. Time to get a kayak to keep you above the water. ;)

I plan on fishing out of the kayak this weekend and might make the drive to the cape. Walden's closer, but your uncle has spoiled it for me. Now when I go I just focus on the negative aspects of Walden.

Hamblin pond was productive at one point during the thanksgiving period. midges ruled there as well.

Those fish can be tough in Hamblin. Lots of food readily available and the sporadic behaviors of stocked and holdovers mixed together.

I had problems with those fish last fall. Of course I didn't have my bread and butter midge pattern that I have now.

I went down there twice this fall but the wind was just too much.
