Am going to be in Islamorada or thereabouts on sun-tues 4/16-4/18. Love to split a guide with someone for Bonefish or Tarpon if you twist my arm. Anyone have any suggestions for the keys I would love to hear it since all flats fishing I have done was in mexico and a few Bahamas islands. should I bother fising without a guide. I have good eyes and some experience with bones, permit, tarpon etc... thanks for the replies if you have time

Bones and cuda you can do on your own. I would recomend getting Kumiski's book (sp?) on florida fishing, he has plenty of flats mapped out down there. Obviously will not be as productiuve as a guided boat trip. Without a guide/boat, you can forget about tarpon, unless you do that nightime stuff off the bridges. Guides have been long booked by now...
Good luck,
greg

Hey Mctrout,
Tough fishing without a guide around keys. Suggest you get a hold of Kumiski's book on
flyfishing the florida salt. Wade fishing can be done
and John gives you some spots to try. Capt Al Finkleman is an excellent guide and I would recommend him. Good luck salty
