all the flies you tie/post look great. i don't mean to sound insulting, but do they work as great as they look? the reason i ask is they seem extremely sparse compared to anything i tie, or have seen in any fly shops. if they do work as well as they look then i've been wasting qutie a bit of material.
thanks,
dan

Believe me, they do work. The sparceness is what makes it so good. Most small bait (under 7" or so) is usually quite translucent. These flies imitate that well. Earlier this year, I took out Mark Sedotti and a friend of his on my boat. His friend had never caught a striper before. Mark went in my fly box and gave him a yellow and white flatwing about 6" long and he was able to hook up quite often.
I will tell you though, sometimes a heavily dressed fly is the way to go too. Depends on the conditions. However 80% of the time I fish w/ sparce flies. Try both and let the fish decide.
