I see a lot of interest in the flatwing style of tying. I've been having fun tying them for a couple of years now. I try to match the sizes of the prevalent bait - some are very small but some can be pretty long and finding a wallet or fly box for them is tough - since you want to protect their long hackels.
I ended up making a long tri-fold wallet with fleece and a heavy material. I've had good feed back from other anglers but have been looking for the real thing every time I open a catalog.
What do you guys prefer - I'm curious. There has to be a better way.

I made a box out of a piece of tupperware.Glued 2 sheets of foam in the bottem to hold the flies.

That's a good idea - I'll keep an eye out for a long narrow container that I can fit into my pocket or pack. I pinch my barbs and sometimes a fly will come loose from the sheep fleece. Your idea will also float.
