I will me in Wilmington, NC (Wrightsville Bch) the end of March and was wondering if anyone is familiar with the fishing in the area?
I will be wading from shore and flyfishing.
Any info is appreciated, thank you in advance for the help.
Happy Holidays.
Matt,
Put this same question on the NE Board and I'm sure you will get a ton of direction!
A lot of the local VA and NC guides check in regularly on the NE Board. Also check the Yellow Pages in your search engine and see if you can pick up fly shops or bait shops to call.
Another tip - check out the tel. no. of Hardware stores near the area you wish to fish. Most of the small towns who have a hardware store use them as a fishing supplies store too!
Good Luck!
I'm heading to Morehead City from NY on Friday and hope to put in some time fishing and sorting out my new 12 wt. and my surf pole before the striper run begins in the Hudson River in April.
I'll be doing a search in that fair city, plus Atlantic Beach and Harker's Island fishin' shops.

Contact Tyler Stone, owner of the Intracoastal Angler in Wrightsville Beach. He's a licensed captain, and a very knowledgeable angler on fly and conventional fishing in that area. www.intracoastalangler.com.
Saw him Monday; he said redfishing was still good, in spite of cold.

Many of the fly guides and shops are in Morehead and Atlantic Beach which is maybe an hour drive.
