Feather Brain-Marabou Gills

This is just another experiment... I have included marabou red gills under two cut sheets of Hackle pieces..one aqua green and the other Olive. Water flow will be from within and without the fly body. I have included two more posts, one the top view and the other the bottom view to give some perspective to the construction.

Here is the top view down..note the flaring of the surface gills..They are partially locked in by surface epoxy..giving the two inner gills free movement.

Here is the bottom view up... this gives a better perspective on water flow...well into the fly and some out the gill plates moving the marabou. This fly would need a lead keel to compensate for the heavy top epoxy..none was put in here for this fly...the bottom is fee of epoxy except the very tip which you can see. The bottom actually looks a little like a real fish from that position so I hope the stripers think so,
