Flatwing Eyes

All the flatwings I'm seeing posted (Awesome flies BTW) are tied using Jungle Cock Eyes. Anyone using an alternative for the eye that may be a bit more reasonably priced?

Craignev, was just posting the same QUESTION an I found what I was looking for, you can DYE them in outher colors.

The photo may be decieving but the feathers look large. Do you trim them with scissors to shape?

Also - I know the red is a dyed color, is the black "tip" also dyed, or is this a natural white feather with a black tip.

What kind of bird, feather, etc. am I looking for?
