I think I may have gotten these flies in a swap a couple years ago, but I don't know what they are. Anyone recognize them?
The back is a strip of rabbit hair and the belly is braided silver tinsel.
Hope you can help.

They're Zonkers.

Thanks!
Seems like from the info I could find (now that I have a name) that these are a fairly versatile fly, effective on many species both fresh and salt.
Anyone use them on stripers and have any tips?

Those are the original zonkers. The body is a piece of lead tape foldedover the shank, trimmed to shape and covered w/ mylar tubing.

They work great on stripers and albies in different sizes..I have used them in all black at dusk and nite...
With rabbit on the wing, it's a Zonker, but I bet it's a zonker variation on Al Brewster's Matuka Sand Eel. See page 258 in "An Anglers Guide to Trout Fishing in Massachusetts" published by MA/RI Trout Unlimited.
