So where is his fishing rod ?

With all them seals around there it might just happen.

I was thinking the same thing....Last year a small boat was circled several times by a ~14ft white off south monomoy. Granted, this is a rumor I heard from a friend...no idea how much truth there is to it. I have read articles in the past about whites in the area from Woods Hole...they are rare but do happen. I am sure the silouette looks just like a seal from below...wet a line, would be a nice sleigh ride....

I remember something in the news about a big white and a striper charter out of Chatham a couple years ago. I think the shark ate a striper as it was being brought in, then saw another pulled over the rail and wanted it too. Guess he banged the boat around a little while the clients laid on the floors and then went away mad.

Thats probably the rumor I heard...Maybe I am sick in the head but seeing that would have been pretty cool...I am sure I probably would have been crying on the floor like a 2 year old if that thing came up over the rail but it still would have made for some good pictures and a great story....of course in the story I wouldn't be huddled in the captains tower

No rumor about the white shark(s) off of Monomoy / Chatham.

What most people don't know is there are a large number of white sharks in NE waters durig the late summer. They move up north to get into cooler water and snack on seals.

In the early 80's the world record white shark was caught just off the tip of Long Island (NY) by Frank Mundus (sp).

NJ yakfisherman had a 5 ft brown take all but the head of a 4 lb bluefish he had on this summer, right alongside the yak. I would've needed a change of shorts. Do sharks feed at night?

Sounds like another Reel-time yak excursion in late summer off Chatham. By that time I could have plenty of ground bluefish for everyone to float around in....we could liveline some mangled snappers...

Yes...from what I have read, most incidental catches and observed feeding had been at night. Guys last year were getting them consistantly off SCB last summer.
