I, Thunder Rod, and friend fished it today. The consensus: very slow. We were hoping for pike/tigers, but no luck. TR caught a 2 lb bass, and the rest of us caught assorted pickerel and yellow perch, nothing huge.

But it was good to get out there, as I haven't had the time to ice fish in 5 years. The only un-fun thing about it was slogging through 6-8 inches of wet & crusty snow to get to our spot.

I quess that's one reason I like A1, it's still tiring to but at least it's not as far and tends to be productive.

Bob, how've you done with pike or tigers at A-1? I know it's a highly productive bass pond. I'm not big on weekend crowds but maybe we can hook up there one these days, although free days will be tough for me the rest of ice fishing season. Hell, I only live 15 minutes from the place, so I should be able to put in a few hours anyway.

In the last 5 years, I've only caught 1 pike and 1 t.muskie mostly bass.

I have the next 2 weekend free and will be out somewhere.

We could have an ice clave. Bet Sam and Shaun would be up for it.

I'd say if you set something up, let me know when it is and I'll try to make it if I can.

I'd probably be in as well depending on location and time.

My next free day apparently will be this sunday. If you have had enough of the fly show, come join me.

Bob,

I'm probably out for this weekend. Just in case though, where and when are you going? If its A-1, where is that located?

Shaun,

Are you going and if so are those tip ups still available? I ordered a set of five but probably won't have them before the weekend.

Thanks and hope to see you guys at Bickfords Saturday morning.

Looks like I'll be going to A1 in Westboro.

Take rt 30 thru town. about a mile on your right there will be a golf course. (popular sledding spot right now) A few hundred feet after that on the right is mill rd. go about 1/3 mile and you can't miss it.

I'm typically straight across near the island. Flourescent orange with golden retriever.

I like to start by 7am and fish till I use up the bait.

Walmarts typically has plenty of ice fish gear.

I'm going to try to get there as well, work willing. If it's real cold, I'll have on bright blue down parka that makes me look like the Michelin man, otherwise a navy blue coat, and pulling a purple sled. I wear glasses (which obviously don't help much with color coordination) :D

I wear a blue jacket and a black hat. I also will be the one with the rediculously out of place fishing bag.
