Steakers in Methuen

Fished Forest Lake saturday morning with SamRiley and Notime. Hoping for some bigger fish we only pulled up a couple small perch. Sort of a slow morning. Lots of missed flags from small fish. Decent day to be out though.

We cooked up some yellow perch fillets at Chauncy as well. Not bad, but not exactly steakers ;). TR and friend even fried up some of the roe :eek: ! I passed on that...

Best Perch of the day was about 10" and puffed out with roe. Wound up being a C&R day so the grill was used for sausage and sauerkraut subs :)

We noticed the all the perch pulled up were covered with small black spots a milimeter or less in diameter. Almost like Ick in a fish tank but black. I wonder if this had anything to do with the small size of the perch and if it might impact the trout and salmon stocked there??
