How about MLK day, Jan 20?? I think most people have off no?

yes it did say the 13'th....left the keys in my car door...I am on a good streak lately.

Any other sugestions? Sunday after the show (19th)? Or the following weekend 25-26th?

Well several of us made it to A1, Sam, Shaun, Garth and I braved the cold to do some hardwater fishing.

Unfortuneately the fish must have looked at the thermometer and stayed in their beds.

The day was slow with only a few bass and pickeral to show for our efforts.

The fire was toasty, good companionship and tasty sausages.
STill beat being stuck inside.

Time to check the cape ice for trout and salmon.

I wimped out (took one look at the thermometer and said "Yeah, right"), but it doesn't looked like I missed much catching.

Like you say, by next weekend everything to the outer Cape will be frozen solid.

Ok I have gotten a report on cape ice. Lots of safe ice around and with the continued cold it's not going anywhere. So My next venture will be Peter's pond on saturday.
Tout and salmon will be the target speices. Although a mess of fresh perch to fry would be nice as well.

For those of you interested in hard water, the Charles River above the dam in South Natick is solid and safe. We spent a good bit of time out there skating and playing hockey yesterday. A couple of guys made a dozen or so holes on Saturday, though I don't know how the fishing was. Lots of the ice is true black. Awesome.

Enjoy,

NatickDave

I had a great time despite the missing fish. Fire and sausages were key...Thanks Sam, Bob, and Garth.

Garth got a fish with a pickeral might even be legal size.

Kissing fish? Strange things happen when men spend too much time in the elements.
