Cape Ice

headed to the cape on saturday to try the ice here. Peter's Pond had a full parking lot with cars parking along the street. Hamblin pond had maybe a dozen people on it. Lovell had about 4. Prince Cove had 1.

Since the wife decided to ride with me more time was spent riding the frozen gravel beaches of sandy neck. But lovell's did produce a couple of perch during a short set.
About 9 inches of ice. black on the ponds/white in the cove.

Nothing but did not have the time to give it a decent shot. If I had there would a picture.

Did get a 13.5" brown at Peter's sunday moring.

Sunday pm at Lovells produce several perch and pickeral and a couple bass.

I saw a guy pull a 6# bass out of the ice and apparently early someone else got one on the opposited side of the pond.

I'm working this weekend but could end up with substantial time off... Lovell's appears to be a good place to have a perch fry. Sam, Shaun want to try if I have the time, if not this weekend maybe the following?

I have a $50 SportsPort xmas gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket. I could use that for tip-ups, etc.

What day? Saturday I have the Cape Cod Indoor Rowing champs at 4C's (don't ask), then off to see my son wrestle .... so Sunday would be better for me.

Shaun and I were thinking of hitting Big Cliff for Trout and Salmon but are easily swayed :) Would a grill be alowed at Lovell's?

Is fishing for sea gulls allowed? and I do mean fishing, not catching...soem of us seem to have a little trouble with the latter..

I'll talk to the person in charge of schedualing to see if I get sunday freed up.

There are some trout in Lovell.s but no Salmon.

GRills- one group grilled a three # bass for lunch I would guess since grill and fish rack were side by side.
