Some friends and I are going to be heading to Hatteras from New England for two weeks around the 4th of July (22years running for one of the guys). While we're there at least two of us want to do some self guided fishing. I'm sure there will be soem family "exploring" of the back bays as well.
Does anyone know of a good place to rent a boat for a couple of days to two weeks?
I could tow down my 17' Whaler, which seemed like it would be great down there, but the drive down last summer was 13 hours and about $1million in tolls, and that was without a boat strapped to the back of the family truckster. By the way: WHAT'S UP WITH THE CHESAPEAKE BAY BRICDGE/TUNNEL?Yeah it's cool but $20 is a little steep.
Anyway, whether we rent or tow we will hit the charters a couple of times to get out to the gulfstream. Last year one of the guys brought down his 43' Donelle and we had great fishing when the seas laid down a little (it blew STINK our first couple of days), the time and $$ is too much to bring his boat down again.
