Mark,
This ramp is located in a residential neighborhood a little tricky to find. There is a variety stroe @ the corner on the Main Rd. Also, the street is a shaped like a horseshoe. Friendly, nice people live all around so be nice!
Parking for bout 15 boats & trls.
Fee for use, metal mailbox at end of ramp.
Ramp good for 1 boat @ a time with a good float. Ramp is fine.
Lots of ROCKS in this area, have a chart & keep your eyes open!
Good access to the Islands & Mattapoisett, New bedford etc. Have not caught a lot of fish in this area but a pretty, quiet, place. Maybe that's a reason it's so quiet. Commercial Tog fishermen also use this ramp.
Good luck & B careful.

As mentioned, this ramp provides great access to Buzzards Bay and the Elizabethan Islands. There are tons of great scup and tautog spots located around West Island and off of Mattapoisett and Marion. Out of the three boat ramps in Fairhaven, this is the best maintained, has the best access (with the adjacent float), and had the best parking lot.
I also would recommend this area for kayakers, as the Nasketucket Bay is a great spot for Striper fishing, especially in the Spring and Early Summer. It is also quite picturesque. Because it is shltered somewhat by West Island, the seas are pretty mild (when there is a SW), making it a pleasant kayaking area. Be aware that this area is frequented by jet skis and the like...
Some things to be concerned with are:
Rocks. Definitely bring a chart with you to navigate out to open water. There are no clear channels marked here, and there are a lot of places you could do some major damage to your boat and/or motor. It is not difficult at all, but you just need to be aware of your surroundings. A chart is necessary, but once you figure out the channel, you'll never have a problem again.
Tides. This ramp is affected immensely by tidal ranges. At extreme high tides, water actually rushes over the ramp, over to the parking lot (which is a lot lower grade than the top of the ramp). The parking lot routinely gets flooded, and would make launching almost impossible during that tidal peak.
Fee. As with all boat ramps in Fairhaven (Pease Park @ Middle Street and Hoppy's Landing @ Goulart Memorial Drive), there is a $5 per day fee for launching and parking. If you intend to use the ramps more than a couple of times, I believe you can get a sticker at the Town Hall for $30 annually.
