In getting ready for spring I want to address some of the things I didn't like about my kayak last year. Here are the problems, hopefully you can help:

I have a Ride Angler
1. I need to mount a rod holder on the side of the yak for storage so it doesn't interfere with the paddle. i want it sturdy enough so i don't have to worry about losing the rod on a long rough paddle. i have been keeping it between my legs but I have had a few close calls and looking for a better way.

2. I also want to improve the position of my rod holder used for trolling. The way it was positioned when i bought it makes it very difficult to paddle when the rod is in place. I am looking to do both fresh and salt with both spin and fly and looking for the best way to suit all my needs.

3. I need to catch a keeper!!!

Thanks in advance,

Dave K

I have mine attached in front. I troll with it as is and when I get a bite I just quickly slide myself forward grab the rod and reel in the fish. Here's a picture of my set up:

Get a RAM Rod Holder or a Scotty.Rams can turn a gazillion different ways

I mount my rod holders behind me .I dont like lines crossing my yak when making turns and such.A guick glance to the right to check the tip for weeds .You know when a fish is on from your line screaming out.
