Do a RT search on Tarpon.... You should get many hits...
Great for fishing.
Great for big water.
Its also very quick for a fishing yak.Good stability.I got a pair of them.
Everyone I know who bought one has been very satisfied. Most of the guys who I know moved up into one from other yaks.I had a Pungo .
Anything else you need to know just let me know.

capemike88,
You said you got a 16 ft kayak. Is that a Tarpon?

Yep it's a tarpon alright, my dad and I got a good deal on a pair of used 16 foot Tarpons, ones tan'sand colored, and the others a fairly dark green, I get to choose mine first... I got if for my birthday this winter, they each cost $410 I think, and there in pretty good condition, they each have one rod holder, but were going to put 2 on each before the season starts I think,

My friend Right in the Mouth sold me his Ocean Kayak Scambler XT and he moved up to the Tarpon 160.
I have heard nothing but good things about them.
I used my friend pmjasper's Cobra Navigator and really liked that yak. It's going to be a tough choice when I buy a new yak.

i've been doing tons of research on fishing kayaks since i will be buying one, and the tarpon 160 is by far the most praised kayak out there. if you do some searches, you will find lots of pictures of the 160 with different rigging setups.
i am going to be getting a tarpon in the next week or so, but i will probably be getting the 120. i like the idea of a tankwell, and i also like the fact that it is shorter and more manueverable. i plan on fishing some really tiny salt marsh creeks with lots of bends, and i don't think that the 160 would be able to make it around some of the cuts in the marshes. now, if i was fishing mostly open bays and the ocean, the 160 would be my choice. i believe the retail is $749 for them, with an extra $150 if you want a rudder. finding a used one would be the way to go, but it seems that people like this boat so much, that used ones are very hard to come by.
good luck.
