From Capt. Terry Nugent of RipTide Charters:
There is a very good state ramp on the Weweantic in the EB rest area of Rt 195. Not often taled about. Great for early season, I've put the 22' in there a few times. 3 to 5 feet most areas, plenty of parking both at the ramp and if need be in the rest area. Lots of police to check on the trailer and vehicle due to the "other" activities that occur there. Might be worth a post.
There is another dirt ramp under the high tension wires for small tin. Its right off rt 6 on the Marion Mattapoisett line. It's behind the little gym. Both are great mid april areas.

The ramp is at the end of Fillmore St.

There's another one on the river at the Rose Point Marina. Not sure what the fee is to launch, but it can't cost too much...

FYI
The dirt ramp under the high tension wires is technically private
The last house at the end the old guy is a real pain and has locked the gate with people inside or out
How do I know Inlaws live in the"Briarwood community" and my brother inlaw and i have been locked in coming back from a late afternoon of duck hunting
As for the 195 ramp please note tides when launching that if it is high and you have a t top or poling platform on your boat you may not safely pass under route 6
Regards,
Bruce
If you do get locked in come on down to motel next to rte 6 and say you fly fish or duck hunt and are locked in We'll get you some bolt cutters real quick

Great ramp and lots of parking but...... there is a low bridge which could be tough to get under for some boats and when I was out last weekend, there were no proper channel markers. the wandering channel is deep but shoals up very quickly and is bordered by a bolder field. One rock in particular is wearing a bit of my last prop and skeg :(

One rock in particular is wearing a bit of my last prop and skeg Gee Sam new boat and your dinging the prop already???. There goes at least 1 or 2 mph off your top end speed. It'll take you that much longer to reach the bft later. --125-3

Actually it won't.... because I had to install a brand new prop. Skeg is missing a chunk too and she pulls to the right now. Taking her in to have that fixed this week. Live and learn

Sam look for a small fin on your cavitation plate. It can be adjusted to compensate for the tendency of a boat to turn due to motor torque. It might have been knocked out of position.Be nice to your prop. as you now know they are expensive to replace.
My goal this summer is to make it the entire summer with the new motor without any serious dings.

Launched there 2 hr before high today, Well manitaned ramp and an empty parking lot on a Sunday? Found out the hard way why! This ramp is not acesssible 2hr before or after low tide (small sign says so). I also ran aground a couple times at high, no real channel markers and not on GPS till you get past some real low bridges.
Nice ramp if you plan the tides acordingly and for launching I liked having the palce to myself but wasn't real thrilled about leaving my truck and trailer there all day by there lonesome.Allot of shady characters around.
I would avoid this ramp if posible.

Definitely avoid the Weweantic river ramp if you have a boat with more than 2' of draft. The ramp itself is fine, but there's no channel that I could discern between the ramp and the bridge. And the channel below that point is not marked, except by the occasional 2x6 that would do a good job on your hull were you to ram it. And just past the last mooring above the power lines, there's a large rock underwater - trust me on this one.
