Yak Salmon

Here is a pic Wes took of DougieV's salmon he caught while fishing last weekend.

Here is Wes's report from the trip.

Met JoeV and DougieV this morning. Slow start but we found a school of cooperative dinks and hammered them for a while. Maybe some were 20 inches. Just about quittin' time Doug hooked up with something nice, turned out to be an Atlantic Salmon.

Did it go airborne?

I missed any big jumps but I believe he did. Think it was about the time Doug started yelling "What is this?, What have I got on here?"

I flipped out the first time I hooked one. Only went airborne once but what a fight on 2lb test. Tasted great too.

Are those stocked salmon any good to eat? Did Dougie do a taste test?

This one went back, season is closed for a couple weeks. Very healthy looking fish, though.

From the pic I see the loop to loop connection... Did he catch that on the fly? My guess is no... NICE CATCH!!!!!!!! Awesome!

Think he was using 4 inch white wildeye shad.
