Joe V,

I saw a pic somewhere while cruising the yak nets that you have on your yak.

I think you called it a water cup. It was sitting on the yak floor and you have it half full or water? and you sitck the transducer in the water and press it to the floor of the yar with a piece of foam to hold it in place.

I got the Idea but it is so simple I'd bet I'd screw it up if I didn't ask you exactly how you came up with this way to do it? And, how well does it work?

I have a Eagle 128 Cuda, the Cabela's Small 12-Volt DC rechargable Battery 7.0 Ah and a brand new 140 Pungo to set up before the striped bass arrive on my doorstep.

If you have already set the steps together and it is available here on R-T or another site - Just point me in the right direction.

I'd appreciate your help.

A few other guys had done something similiar to this.I mean vasoline and duct tape works too.It is simple thats why I did it.Seems to work well .Only one trip so far.Plus you dont have to glue your transducer to the yak.
I went to Home Depot and got a 3 inch pvc pipe fitting about 2-3 inches tall. Then sanded the botton of fitting to match the hull contour. Then trace the fitting onto yak.Lightly scuff the area where the fitting will be glued to yak.I then used Marine Goop on the inside and out of fitting. Then put a nice thick bead on the tracing.Wait about 5 minutes then place fitting onto the bead.Make sure you get a good watertight seal around the cup. Then cut a pice of close cell foam a little wider than the cup add pockets or slots for your transducer to keep it centered.Place transducer in and fill half way up with water.
It took me about 45 minutes to install the Fishfinder and cup and a rodholder.I then put that same battery in a softsided cooler .So when I am done yakking I just pop of my FF and store it in the bag with transducer and battery.Hope this helps if not let me know.

Sammy,

Stick close to me on MV and when I point to the water, cast!

If I spot any skunks lurking under your boat I'll chase them away.

This is going to be your year, Sam! We are all pulling for ya, fella!
