Can anyone tell me what time of year I would expect to have to most shots at the biggest bonefish? Also does anyone have any flyfishing guides they feel strongly about one way or the other?

For Islamorada I would think May, June, September, and October. Almost any book on bonefishing will have a chart with the best months at various destinations. Key Biscayne might be a better trip if you are looking for a monster.

Interesting I fished Biscayne Bay last weekend and ended up with two real nice bones but I have heard so much about Islamorada having such big fish I thought that was the place, I guess I shouldn't believe all the hype huh?

Never been to Key Biscayne, but the "hype" I've heard is the bones at Islamorada are picker because they see more flies.

The back country of Islamorada is great. Last summer or the summer before two world record bones were taken in Key Biscayne.

Key Biscayne is known for massive bones. The late Frank Garisto, one of the original Reel-Time sponsors, used to guide out of Biscayne Bay and took me on a trip I'll never forget, fishing out around Stiltsville. He said that a lot of records and a lot of Met winners were taken in those waters.

I didn't get one. But I did catch a boxfish.
