Quick questioning guys I bought the tarpon 120 angler - pretty much already geared up , though I've got to add afew things here and there, the question is it came with a Scotty bait casting holder, and I want to change it to a fly rod holder. Does the base accomdate the fly hloder or do I need to a whole new set up - thanks Punch:confused: :-% :)

Scotty spin/baitcaster male bases fit both the raised and flushmount brackets - I've had mine for 2 years and I use them on the yak and center console with great success - tight lines - artfullcast

I bought mine from an outfit in Maine that was a recommended dealer, off the Scotty website, they "mixed and matched" so I got what I wanted at the best price, darned if I can recall the name of the outfitter tho, but visit the website, also try Old town Canoe or REI outfitters for the pieces you want - tight lines

Punchshot I don't know of any site where you could just buy the holder without the base. On my kayak I have 4 different areas where I can put my fly rod. 2 behind my seat on either side and 2 up front on either side. So for only $20 you can get the fly rod holder with the base and just attach the base somewhere else on your kayak where you might end up using it.
