...just wanted to share this...went out to try for Tom #2 with the bow Sat- wasn't in the woods thirty minutes, was changing locations when I noticed a spot on the bacl of my left hand was moving..fished out a loupe and yessiree- deeer tick...doubled back home, pulled off my duds and showered down, put on some DEET and went back out..all set, right?
..well, took a walk today at lunch to check the same area and went up a skiddah path growin in- got back to the 'burban and they were even more obvious on the tan office garb...- another strip down in the driveway (neighbors gotta be heavin lunch by now..) and I counted over a dozen on my clothes- two more in the shower..they were deer ticks- small (diameter of pencil lead- 5 mm or so) and a lighter colored band on perimeter of back
guys, cover up, spray the lower end with DEET, tuck in those trousers...
..be careful- it is early foe it to be this bad and it is generally worse toward the Cape...
