Where is the bait......?

Went to Jones Inlet this am. No bait, ,birds, or fish.
The whole place reminded me of "Silent Spring". I'm not sure exactly what is going on this year. By this time the past two years the air there was full of terns diving on sand eels. Not so this year. Any one have any thoughts on this?:confused:

Maybe the water temps are keeping things slow.

Could be. I went to the backside of Moses yesterday. Same thing. No terns diving because there was nothing to dive on. I did see one group of sand eels in the outlet to the salt pond at the end of the sea wall going out the Dem. Pt. but nothing where fish could eat them. I don't know if you are familiar with the area but the opening to that pond has all but closed. Large boats used to get in there. Lots of changes going on there.
