This month's general meeting of the Hudson River Fishermen’s Association will feature Mr. Stephen Sloan as keynote speaker. Steve is an IGFA Trustee and Multiple World Record Holder. In 1966 he was the first man to take a bluefin tuna on a fly for a world record in that class. Since that time he has set 44 IGFA world records, all on light tackle. He became a pioneer on the use of light lines for big game fish such as tuna, marlin and shark. In the early 1980s he was appointed to the Marine Advisory Fishery Commission, which was charted to advise the National Marine Fisheries Service. He became chairman, and received a commendation from the United States Government for reorganizing the commission. He now serves on the U. S. Delegation to the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tuna. He also host the Nationally Syndicated Radio Program "The Fishing Zone" and has authored numerous books on the ocean and fishing, like "The Status of Ocean Fisheries", "Ocean Bankruptcy", "The Freedom to Fish Act" and "Fly Fishing Is Spoken Here".

Please join the New Jersey Chapter of the Hudson River Fishermen's Association on Tuesday, June 10th at 8 p.m. at the Elk's Club Lodge at Spruce St. and Cedar Ave. in Ridgefield Park, NJ.
