I am moving to tuckerton very soon because the fishing is great. My father owns a boat and loves to go out for Fluke.
He hits the grassy channel and the stakes off of fish island. My question is I want to fly fish this area, but i dont know where to begin. Should i drift or not. Can i fly fish while my father drifts? What kind of gear do i need for blues, strippers weakfish? Anything to get me started would be great, or even a website you know of would be helpful.

I fish great bay a bit. I can tell you it is tough to flyrod when you aren't with people who care about flyfishing. Don't know what kind of boat you have but you can find some fish on the flats this time of year. If the boat is not set up for flyfishing, you can always get out at a creek mouth and cast there. I sometimes pull the boat up to the sod banks and hop out and walk the banks. The mouth of the bass river can be good on the bottom half of outgoing tide. Also the mouth of Bellanger creek at similar tide level. Bring bug spray!
