Has anyone tried the new Orvis Advantage clear int line... If so how does it compare to an airflow, etc

I just purchased it in a 9wt. It casts very nice and shoots line effortlessly in conjuction with a 9wt TLS rod. Have not used it in the water yet. Hope to get out some evening this week. A question I had on an earlier thread was how this line holds up in the fall in colder air and water temperatures. Was told by a few sources that this line holds up very well into the fall as far as getting stiff.

gonzo, just wondering; since there have been so MANY positive comments re the Airflo Cold Saltwater clear Intermediate line on this site as well as others, why would you take a chance on purchasing an Orvis line when so many of us are totally satisfied with the casting of the Airflo line in both cold and warm saltwater? Not that any of us should doubt the reviews of the Orvis lines (which always seem to be changing) but I don't know of any flyfisherman who isn't happy with his Airflo int. line, including me and my fishing buddy. After being touted as being the best, etc., by Orvis, the Orvis Wonderline was discontinued and now we have the Orvis Wonderline Advantage line. We post, over and over, about our satisfaction with Airflo's intermediate clear line whenever someone asks, as do other forum members. Check the previous threads and you'll see why your purchase of an Airflo CSW intermediate line will be well worth your money. Put a double nail knotted braided loop on the end of this line or even a whipped loop (which will be your next question) and you'll be all set to catch a big one! Me and my fishing buddy have had our Airflo lines for five years. They're still tickin' .....and....by the way....yes, we have used the Airflo line in the water, where, maybe, others haven't used their chosen lines yet. They do perform well. Good luck.

Thanks for your input. I have tried various airflo lines in the past over the years, but not the clear intermediates. Just wondering, thats all!

I used the Orvis advantage 9 wt. clear int. last week. I won't say it's worth 70 bucks but it cast extremely well and I landed two 30" weakies. I am very satisfied and can't wait to fish it again. Hopefully it will perform equally well in the fall when it's cold.
