I have been wading without a life vest for years and now would like to purchase a vest that is lightweight, non bulky, has refelctive tape for night surfcasting and has the ability to support my weight . I believe that I have found one, which is paddling specific, but was hoping for comments, concerns or even reviews before I make the purchase, please see link below.
Thanks,
Lurch

Have you checked out SOSpenders or Stearns? I just grabbed a SOSpender from West Marine. I believe the sale is over though.

Looks good Lurch,
If you fish some slippery rocky places where you can bonk your head the vest is the way to go.
Also if your fishing some stronger rips and you get caught then the vest will be a nice help. Even though I thought the vest was overkill, I picked one up when I would fish alone...just as a commitment to my wife & kids.
As you know the vest is no substitute for good judgement.

I had a very good friend that went out fishing in familiar water practically in his back yard and never came back. He was in good shape and a good swimmer but fast currents and cold water slipped him away. Any vest that works is a great idea.
