View Full Version : Fly Lines
I'm going to be investing in new 10 wt. intermediate and floating lines. I've used SA lines for a while and am reasonably happy with them. I've heard good things about Air-Flo lines. I'd be interested in getting some advice on other lines before I drop $$$ on new lines. Thanks.

Check out Wulff lines. I espicially like the intermediate. They have been great. Had Rio and hated it.

I use a SciAng clear intermediate on my 10-weight and an AirFlo clear intermediate on my 8-weight. It's my impression, based on no particular data or rigorous comparisons, that the AirFlo has a bit less memory and is a bit slicker and shoots a little more smoothly. Your mileage, as they say, may vary.

I have a SA Int, Airflow SW tact. Int., and SA Floater. Each line is great.. I just got the Airflo and am really impressed with its smoothness.
I have a Rio sink tip...hated it at first but once I stretched it according to manuf. reccom. haven't had any problems with it.

I use a 10 wt Teeny Pro intermediate( forget if its a Lefty or Lee design) on my Winston XDLT. Its advertised as a beginner line that has a bump in the line. when you strip it in and feel the bump then its time to make the next cast. At first I thought the bump was for wimps but now I find its great for night fishing & it sure does make life easier. Also it has a good soft feel in my hand and loads up the rod very well.
