Fire Island?

I will be out in Fair Harbor for a week in mid-August and will be looking to catch some fish from shore. Any recommendations on spots would be greatly appreciated. I will most likely have a bike and have no problem hiking a ways.

The ocean will hold BIG weaks, bass and blues but if your not used to ocean fishing could be a pain.

On the bay side there are plenty of nice quiet coves and beaches for weakfish bass and cocktail blues.

walk down to the fire island light house and find the path that leads to the bay. There is remnants of a old pier directly in line with the lighthouse in front of the new pier this usually holds bass and weaks at night bass. They are feeding on baby blues (snappers).

During the day walk some of the secluded sections of the bay with a sinking line and a small clouser for fluke.

Stay at the bar on the weekend to much boat traffic and people.
BRING BUG SPRAY and a head lamp.
