After tying a few quick practice flatwings, this is the first one that I decided to tie slowly and deliberatley. Looking for feedback on proportions, colors, material selection...
Already a huge fan of Striblue, Boarmountain, and Jim Miller's flies (amongst others) and have tried to copy some of the examples I have seen on this site. I have been tying for about 3 years now and always looking for feedback so I can get better.
Thanks!

Real nice, love your colors.

real nice. You might try and reduce the amount of bucktail in the wing and collar- just my $.02
gorgeous fly, I'd believe you if you told me it was tied by Ken Abrames himself, very impressive
Wonderful colors; agree with Ron - reduce bulk in bucktail, less is more. Keep at it; great work.

Thank you all for the kind words and feedback! This is such a great forum for feedback and exchange of ideas. I really appreciate everyone taking the time to express their thoughts. I will definitely go a little lighter on the bucktail on future revisions. (I was actually thinking the same thing after I finished tying it!) Thanks again.

Hey Mr. August, Great Flies! Did you really tie those or did you buy them from Jim at Lower Forty? I guess you get good at tying when you don't work and stay home and tie flies 24/7 except when catching an ocassional Sox or Pats game. How about you tie a couple of those for your old pal in Jersey? I will be up again for Labor day so get going!!!! Sounds like you won enough money playing poker with the boyz this weekend that material costs should not be a problem!

Hi Mr. August,
I like your flat wing not too shaby. Where in Hudson do you live, I live in beautiful Marlboro unfortunately no salt water here. Do you do any fishing in Boston area???
