I'm finally going to bite the bullet and invest in a sage XP rod. Most of my usage will be backcountry fishing 6-10lb redfish common. Wind is usually a factor. Been looking at the Sage rods for a long time (they are pricey). I've got it narrowed down to the XP890 and the XP896 in either a two piece or four piece. Have used my buddies two piece 890 for a while, easiest casting most accurate rod I've ever used. Anyone have any experience with the XP896, I'm thinking it might help in the wind.
Opinions?

All I can say was that I tried out a 10wt. earlier this summer and it felt like my 8wt. Although it doesn't look it, it's a nice stout rod.

If anyone is interested, I am selling my Sage XPLI---9 foot 9wt. It is a two piece. It is 2 years old and I have used it about 8 times, so it is just about like new.
I do not know how to value a used rod, so I will accept a reasonable offer.
Thanks and email if interested.
I will respond most quickly if this email address is used:

James,
Go to www.ebay.com and type in "Sage RPLXI". See what the search gives you. Then look at the lower left of the search page and click on "Completed Auction" this will give you an idea of what similar rods sold for in the last 30 days or so...
Note: The 2 pce version of this rod is usually a lot less than the 4pce
You may even want to sell it on e-bay.
good luck
