Surf Fishing chronograph..

Has anyone seen a wrist watch that keeps track of:
1) Ocean tides
2) Air/Water Temperature
3) Barometric pressure
4) Water depth
5) Moon phases
6) Compass

** Maybe even an optional wind speed/direction plug-in.

I have seen watches that do some but not all of these functions. Would be nice to have a weather station on your wrist while fishing.

I think the water depth thing might be pushing technology to the max. I have a G-shock that has Tide and moon info.....great for fishing.

I have searched for such a watch for years, and finally found it last year. It is a surfing watch made by Rip Curl, and it does, time, tide time, tide phase and moon phase. Each function has it's own dial and it is 100% waterproof.

I think the other functions you are asking for are a bit much to expect in a wristwatch. You may need to carry a weatherstaion around with you......

I've been looking at the rip curl watches for a couple years and bit the bullet a couple of weeks ago and bought one.
normal time
alarm
count down timer
chronograph (stopwatch)
Two future tide modes
duel time mode.
moon phases
graphic showing tide phase and rising or falling.

Yeah. I guess my dream watch is a little much. But what the hell. The Rip Tide sounds pretty cool. I'll check it out..

Thanks for the suggestions..

Try EBAY. I paid just over $100.00 for a similar watch.

I had one for years. Finally croaked. Timex Sportsman or Angler (I believe that is the name) Tide, Moon, Sunrise/Set. Stopwatch. Less than $50.

The watches look great, I need one just like that.

Also make a waterproof surfcasters water temp gauge with a long probe (so you can drop it in the surf), and attach it to your wading vest or tackle bag. The gauge will have a range of 30 up to 90 degrees and a backlight. Does anyone know of a device like this?

I picked up the RipCurl a couple years ago. and like it a lot. The one I picked up is an analog traditional looking watch (Chrongraph) The primary hands are for telling time, but there are 3 other sets of hands. one set tells you the phase of tide, the other tells tide range (Spring or Neap), the third tells moon phase.

Right now as I type I see that its 10:23 and I'm a few minutes away from peak High tide ( on a spring tide) with a full moon. It also tell me that in about 2 hours the rips will be starting to set up. so If I was going to hit the beach I should be on the water by 12:30.

But if I was in my boat I've got about 3 1/2 hours to get back to Rock harbour or I'm stuck. I like the RipCurl & recommend it. good luck

Pete... I'm with ya on the RipCurl... I got mine at the surf shop in Kingsbury plaza, Kingston. NIce quality, durable. Stainless steel, not plastic.

rip curl is the ticket. Just replace the pins for the band every year. Costs 2 bucks and keeps your watch where it is suposed to be. I am on my second one because of this. My old one is some where off the point by chatham light.:(

I get the moon phase on my gps, also good for marking fish and structure on the beach.Got a clock in the van and a local tide chart on the visor. A WAtch ? Nah !

The watch is used to torture myself when I'm at work or home and can see all the right weather combinations coming together to catch fish.

If I do see the right tides, moon and water temp, I can always skip on down the shore after work to give it a shot. Even if the conditions don't look right, I go down anyway when I get the opportunity.

I guess the bottom line is, the watch is a nice to have and if your gonna wear one, why not have one that tells you when high tide is..
