Just spoke x friend who fished POC over weekend. Not much damage done during hurricane which dead-centered the town. The bay system acheived a good, needed flushing. Very little debris in water. All the favorite honey-holes are intact......no new reefs, all the old reefs intact. Normal fishing, lotsa tailing reds in 6-12 inches of H2O, plenty of action on them with a 6wt. flyrod. Never leave home without your favorite baitcaster on 7' rod....take a handfull of quarter oz. Johnson gold spoons, the reds tear into them even when ther're not hungry. Speckled trout is where you find them........they never really turned on this summer.....however, arm yourself with topwater, rattling plastics in chrome and bone......intermediate sinking pastics will do also. Bass assassins work well in bone with chartreuse tail. Fishing with live bait is for weanies. Wind is as usual...10-12 knots, always a place to get out of the wind. School starts soon so traffic in bays will begin to decrease as the goobers put away their fishin' stuff and prepare for hunting season.
