Hi all. Going to Columbia MD early Oct. for son's hockey tournament and was wondering if it possible to wet a line for Stripers/albies/blues/whatever.

Don't know the area, staying 2 nights. Thought I might throw the gear in the car and sneak out between games. Is it worth it?

I might be willing to drive as far away as an hour from Columbia if there is something worthwhile going on. From shore or even gided fishing if available.

Any advice appreciated.

thanks.

Get with Joe Bruce at the Fisherman's Edge shop in Catonsville Md at 410 719 7999 - Columbia is a little landlocked and you'll have to "skip" more of your son's tournament than you anticipate. Joe will tell you to fish the Inner Harbour of Baltimore, probably at the boat ramp in front of Harbour Hospital. There is plenty of room to swing your stick, and in the evening there are blues, striper and white perch. Baltimore is maybe 19 miles north on 95 - Joe has a website, joebruce.com - talk to him, you'll be happy you did

Thanks for the tip Alion. I'll check him out.

If all I get to do is cast to some fish for an hour or 2, it will be worth it.
