Yeah, it stretched out that undersized trout pretty good!

How'd you do it?

I opened the image, then cropped out everything that was not relevant to the picture.

Then used the comand, Image>Re-Size and set the longest side to 550 pixels.

Then I saved it at the new size.

Then I used a sharpening filter and sharpened it 150%.

Took about twenty seconds total.

I used Adobe PhotoShop, but you can use any imaging software that you have, including the stuff that came with your camera.

Here is the best tip of all though: Your original picture wastes about 70% of the frame on dead space. Tilt the camera 90-degrees, and get in close enough to fill the frame with the subject.

When re-sizing images for the web, set the length on the longest side to 600 pixels if you want people to be able to see the picture without scrolling around.

Congrats on the nice fish, Bigred. I noted that even on that foggy day the colors on your fishing rods turned out very well, and the action shot of the fish feeding is terrific. I've been wanting to purchase a digital camera but have become only more confused with each camera review I read. Any suggestions for a digital camera?

masssalt?

Anyone?

P.S. Did that fish feeding frenzy produce a tug on your line?

bones, I bought 2 different cameras this year. one was a olympous stylus 400, 4 megapixel with 15 sec silent videos and the other a sony dspc52. Of the 2 I like the sony more becouse it can take unlimited video with sound as well as still pictures. It cost $277 at walmart plus I got an extra 128 mb memory stick for about $50. Memory stick seems to hold alot, even with video, and the batteries seem to last long. If you get one at best buy, you can get a warranty which covers water damage. I should have got mine there but it was an impulse buy. Good luck

PS: Yeah I got a line into those fish. Nice 5#-7# blues. We don't get good year round fishing but these september blitz's almost make up for it.
