I am looking for a Sage RPL+ 996 (I think that's the model no) 9ft 6'' #9, two piece. I am London-based, but am keen to forge a bit of transatlantic rapport! (If not an RPL+ a 996-4 XP 9wt would also do the job.)

you might also try posting at

http://www.flyshop.com (edited: link changed by mcahill - see next post)
Be careful not to jump on the first response, there are a few dealers on that forum that like to charge more than things are worth. Eventually you will get a response with a fair price.

Good luck.

I clicked on it and it tried to download Gator...which is spy ware and a very nasty little product - although the link was correct. Probably one of their advertisers...

The link I deleted went to the classifed forum at http://www.flyshop.com - just click on classifeds and you'll get there.

I suggest you contact Peter Jenkins at The Saltwater Edge (http://www.saltwateredge.com) - he is a long time RT sponsor, great guy and he can get the rod shipped over with no problem.

Hmmm......seems the original poster wanted a 9wt in the RPL+ configuration. A 6wt RPL may not be quite close enough:rolleyes:

I am amazed to see a post here by the email address "trader @ southslope.net". I check classifieds, and ebay for equipment every day, he constantly posts on the Virtual Flyshop, and his stuff is overpriced. Another thing- GATOR, and the people who work for the same are, (to put it mildly), no fun.

As spotted, it must be a 9 wt - but thanks for looking anyway.

Hi London,

I've got both RPL+ and RPLXI's that get hard use. Now that the RPLXi is going the way of the RPL+.... You might want to consider checking for a 9 x 9 in an RPLXi. Some of my anglers report that, now that it's been discontinued, some shops are offering them at a hefty discount. Although I don't think they make the RPLXi in a 9'6" model, the 9 x 9 is a very good rod.

Of course, since prices are so much cheaper here, you could combine your purchase with a fishng trip... Seriously, the last time I was in London (years ago) the cost of fly gear was more than double what the same items were over here.

Good Luck

Thanks for this - sadly it has to be a 996 2 piece as I am replacing one on a like for like basis.
