Will this setup work

Hello all,
I have fell in love with fishing the salmon river and have been gathering info for what I need. So far I have already puchased a tioga 8wt reel with all the suggestions from here but I am still up in the air about a rod. I was going to go with the G.Loomis adventure series 8wt rod but have heard a lot of good things about the sage ds2 for beginners. Although I have been fly fishing for a while I have only fished with the bass pro hobbs equipment. Is the Ds2 with the tioga a good combo?

Sounds like a good combo to me.
I have both a Loomis 9wt and a Tioga 10. Although they are not paired up, they are both excellent choices.

8wt is fine for steelies, but you need a 10wt for salmon. They are both a blast
