Anybody want to buddy up and do some fishin' Sat morning. Alright, what I really mean is anyone want to show me how to catch fish. 0 for my last 5. It hurts! I live in central MA and so anywhere in NH, MA, RI or CT is a reasonable trip. I would really appreciate a helping hand. Would be willing to split gas if coming from similar area. Thanks in advance

Dave,
A multi day skunk is a badge of honor... wear it proudly :D
Normally I'd invite you out to share in my own skunking but Saturday I'll be hitting some big water, not suitable for many yakers.
If I may ask, what have you been fishing for and how have you been targeting them? Bluefish are normally agreeable to poppers, small metal and flies. There are good numbers of them throughout New England now.

Sam,
When you say big water do you mean rough or a large area to cover?

Typically this time of year, 10-20 mile trip, reports are saying seas 4-6ft 15-20knts bu we all know how those go. On clear days land is usually still somewhat visible so that helps.

Yea, I need to borrow my buddy's boat and join you guys some time. 10-20 miles....sheesh.
If I can't get the job done a mile from shore I don't think 10 more will help. :D
Seriously tho....It looks like NOTIME and I are scheming up another Winthrop visit Saturday late afternoon into evening. Could be my first chance to flyfish in the salt.
Can't do the morning tho

Doesn't seem to help us either. We go away from shore in search of dumber fish because we couldn;t catch the smarter ones exposed to people. Come to think of it I don't know who is more challenged the fish or us...

Let's see...what have I been doing to get the 5X skunk? Hit water from RI to NH where there has supposedly been action. Been tossing flies, rubber, plugs and metal. I really don't think I have been doing anything wrong as I have caught fish in all of these places before. Just bad luck. I plan on turning it around this weekend though.
