Since it is anchovy time I figured I would re-post my flatwing pattern to imitate it. The tying instructions are on the "Fly Tying" page.Hope everyone has fun w/ this fly, I know I will.

Hi Mike
I like it!
What material is the top wing? Is there body braid? Looks like a Montauck fly to me!

NICE.....!
Just finished tying a few.......they look great. I'm hoping the Harkers Island Alberts will like them TOO!

They should......if they are feeding on anchovies.
Good luck. LMK how you did.

Great pattern. Took some giant mackrel, off the Maine coast with it this fall. Out fished other flat wing patterns.

In general, in the Fall along the Mid-Atlantic (CT to NJ) coast, how long should a Bay Anchovey fly be? Have not caught any as bait, and they are so packed together when I have seen them it is hard to figure their size. By the way - beuatiful tie, hence the need for the size...

I like to tie them around 2-3".Sometimes as long as 4".
